Pockado Terms of Use
Last updated: October 21, 2026.
1. What Pockado is
Pockado is a family allowance and house-rules ledger. It helps families record allowances, tasks, rules and their results for their children. Pockado does not move, hold, store or transfer real money. Every balance in the app is a record that you and your family keep: it has no monetary value and cannot be withdrawn from or paid into Pockado. Pockado is not a bank, wallet, money transmitter, e-money issuer or payment processor, and nothing in the app is financial, legal, tax, educational or parenting advice.
2. Using Pockado
You must be at least 18 years old. You may add a child only if you are that child's parent or legal guardian, or you have their permission to use Pockado for the child (for example a grandparent or caregiver). By accepting you agree to these Terms, you confirm the above, and you acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you invite another adult (for example a co-parent), you are responsible for that invitation and for what that person does with the access you give.
You and the people you invite create all the content in Pockado: names, house rules, tasks, amounts, rewards, deductions, notes, descriptions and any other text. Pockado does not write, review, approve, monitor, moderate or endorse that content, and we have no control over it or over how you use it with children. You alone are responsible for your content and for the rules you set: they must be lawful, safe, age-appropriate and respectful, and not abusive, humiliating, discriminatory, threatening, harassing, unreasonable or impossible to meet. Deciding what to ask of a child, what to reward, what to deduct and what consequences to apply is your decision. Pockado does not check whether a rule is fair, suitable or achievable, and is not responsible for its effect on any child, family or anyone else. Do not enter sensitive personal information (for example health details) or anyone else's private information into free-text fields.
You add information about children, such as a first name and the balance you choose to record. By accepting, you consent, as their parent or guardian or with that person's permission, to Pockado processing that information so the app can work for your family. You are responsible for supervising the children, for who can use your devices and accounts, and for any share codes or invitations you create. You can delete a child, or your whole account, at any time. How we handle information, including optional usage analytics you can turn on or off in Settings > Privacy and data, is described in the Privacy Policy.
Use Pockado only for its intended purpose and lawfully. Do not attack, overload or try to break the service or its security, or use it to harm others. We may, but are not obliged to, review reports, remove content or suspend or end access that breaches these Terms or the law.
3. Subscriptions and payments
Paid plans can be bought in the iOS app through Apple, under Apple's terms, or on our website through our payment provider Stripe, under Stripe's terms. Pockado never sees or stores your card details. Manage renewals and cancellations where you bought the plan: in your Apple account settings for App Store purchases, or in your account on our website for web purchases. Refunds for App Store purchases follow Apple's policies. For web purchases, contact support@pockado.app; we follow the consumer laws that apply to you. We may change, add or retire plans and limits; if your plan changes we will tell you in the app.
4. Service provided "as is", with no service level
Pockado is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep it running, but we make no promise or guarantee of availability, uptime, speed, accuracy, completeness, support response times or that it will be error-free or uninterrupted. We may change, limit, suspend or discontinue any part of the service, including beta features, at any time, with or without notice. Keep your own copy of anything that matters to you.
5. Liability and ending your use
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pockado and its owners are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss; for loss of data, income or opportunity; for service interruptions; for your content, your rules or how you apply them; for disputes within your family or with anyone you invite; or for any amount beyond what you paid us (if anything) in the twelve months before the claim. To the extent permitted by law, you will defend and compensate Pockado and its owners against claims, losses and costs arising from your content, your rules, your use of the service, people you invite, or your breach of these Terms or the law. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, or your legal rights as a consumer.
You may stop using Pockado and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms or the law, or if we discontinue the service. The parts of these Terms on your content, the service "as is", and liability continue to apply after your use ends.
6. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. When we publish a new version, we will ask you to review and accept it the next time you open the app. If you do not accept, you cannot continue to use the service.
7. Governing law and contact
Pockado is operated by Castro Technologies, LLC, a company in Georgia, USA. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be handled by the courts located in Georgia. This does not take away any mandatory consumer protection, or any right to bring a claim in your own country's courts, that the law where you live gives you.
